Rainbow is looking for a
Business Development Manager

Remote
About the Role
Rainbow is reimagining commercial insurance for a new generation of independent agents. As a tech-enabled specialty underwriter, we empower agents with smarter tools, dynamic underwriting, and industry-specific programs that make it easier to protect the businesses they serve. We’re growing fast and looking for a Business Development Manager to help us source and activate new agency partnerships in key markets across the country.
Your Mission
As a BDM, your job is to open doors. You'll be on the front lines building relationships with high-potential agencies and partners who align with our core programs—like restaurants, fitness centers, and wine bars. You’ll create in-person engagement opportunities that move agents from curiosity to commitment, setting the stage for long-term success with our Account Development team.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and Qualify Top Partners: Prospect and vet independent agencies that align with our target verticals and demonstrate high potential for production.
- Drive Engagement at the Top of the Funnel: Secure intro meetings and activate first steps toward quoting. Once agencies are onboarded, hand off to the ADM team for deeper pipeline development.
- Create In-Person Touchpoints: Travel to agency offices, industry conferences, roadshows, and networking events to build trust and awareness of Rainbow’s brand and programs.
- Collaborate on Campaigns: Work with Marketing and Sales Leadership to run outbound campaigns, test new messaging, and capitalize on emerging market opportunities.
- Champion the Rainbow Story: Deliver compelling messaging on what sets us apart—our programs, our tech, and our proactive service model.
What You Bring
- Comfortable traveling 3–4 days per week (~65% travel). This role is for a road warrior who is very comfortable flying around the country.
- 3+ years in commercial insurance sales, distribution, or carrier partnerships.
- Proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and manage a top-of-funnel sales motion especially when balanced with a heavy travel schedule
- Experience working with independent agents, especially those in niche or specialty markets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both in-person and virtual.
- Agile, growth-minded, and energized by building something new.
Why Join Rainbow?
- Competitive Compensation: Base salary plus performance-based bonuses.
- Entrepreneurial Culture: Operate with autonomy and have a real impact on our go-to-market strategy.
- Modern Tools: Access best-in-class tech and data to help you win.
- Big Vision: Play a key role in transforming how commercial insurance gets done.
