About Rainbow

Rainbow is a program administrator transforming small business insurance with tech-enabled underwriting and data-driven solutions. As we grow, we need a strategic, service-oriented claims professional to help us build a world-class claims operation that balances efficiency, fairness, and outstanding customer experience.

Rainbow supports admitted and non-admitted commercial multi-peril products across multiple U.S. states. With a continuously expanding product portfolio, this role offers opportunities to gain exposure to new coverages, regulatory environments, and claims disciplines as we scale.

The Role

As a Claims Manager, you will oversee and administer the claims process for both property and casualty claims. You will work directly with TPA adjusters, agents and other internal and external customers. You must have a solid foundation for claims handling and resolution and an eagerness for learning new lines of insurance. This role requires problem solving skills, adaptability, positive outlook and attitude, and a commitment to always strive for more.

This is a remote (US) position. Occasional travel may be required for company meetings, industry events, and claims investigations.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, customer service, and technology teams to enhance the claims experience. As a startup, we embrace an all-hands-on-deck mindset, so you’ll have opportunities to contribute beyond your core responsibilities.

This role requires a strong sense of ownership paired with humility — someone who takes responsibility for outcomes, cares deeply about doing things the right way, and approaches the task at hand without ego.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and oversee all aspects of claims handling, from intake to resolution, taking responsibility for outcomes and ensuring fair and timely claim decisions.
  • Deliver proactive communication: Keep stakeholders informed throughout the claims process, and intervene early and often on sensitive claims.
  • Foster strong partnerships: Actively manage and support TPA adjusters, setting clear expectations, intervening when needed, and owning outcomes rather than deferring responsibility.
  • Enhance efficiency & automation: Identify opportunities to streamline processes through technology and workflow improvements.
  • Analyze trends & report insights: Track claims data, identify trends, and provide insights to improve underwriting and risk management.
  • Contribute to business growth: Help refine claims strategies and best practices to support Rainbow’s rapid expansion.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 2-4 years of experience in property or casualty claims management.
  • Eager to learn new lines of insurance claims and continually expand industry knowledge.
  • Experience with high-volume claims departments and a track record of prioritizing workflows.
  • A problem-solving mindset—you anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions.
  • Consistently seeking solutions rather than focusing on obstacles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility and desire for an opportunity to contribute toward a fast-paced, tech-driven environment and adapting to new tools and processes quickly.
  • Communicates transparently and ethically, particularly when navigating challenging discussions.
