Last month, we said Excess Liability binding was coming next to the Agent Portal. It's here: you can now take Excess Liability from quote to bind on your own. We've also redesigned how you start a quote, launched self-service endorsements, added specimen forms before binding, and expanded into new states. Here's what's changed since our last update and how to use it.
You can now complete the full Excess Liability (XS) quote-to-bind flow in the Agent Portal, without asking Underwriting to bind quotes for you.
Why it matters: Fewer handoffs mean you can close the BOP and the excess layer on top of it in one sitting. To get started, open a BOP quote and use the XS tab on the Quote Summary page.
We've redesigned Start a Quote to make it easier to understand which programs, products, and markets are available in each state—and get to the right quote faster.
The new experience gives you two ways to get started:
Start with Admitted, then try E&S if needed. If you choose Admitted first and the risk doesn't qualify, you can continue directly into an E&S quote if the risk is eligible for that market. We'll prefill the E&S application with the information you've already provided, so you don't have to start over.
GL-only coverage is available exclusively through E&S.
Why it matters: Whether you already know exactly what you want to quote or need to explore the available options, the new experience helps you find the right path without unnecessary steps or duplicate data entry. Try it the next time you click Start a Quote.
We've launched self-service endorsements in the Agent Portal, so you can make common, non-premium-bearing policy changes yourself without submitting a request to our team.
For eligible active or pending-active single-location BOP policies, you can now:
These changes can be completed directly in the Agent Portal without waiting for Underwriting or Service to process a request.
Some changes still require a different workflow. Contact email changes use the separate contact email update flow, while insured name and DBA changes still use the endorsement request form because they may require underwriting review. Multi-location BOP, XS, and CPP policies also continue to use the request form.
Self-service endorsements cannot change premium. If a change requires premium adjustment or underwriting review, our team can take over the endorsement you've already started, with your saved information carried over.
Why it matters: Routine policy changes can now be completed on your own, saving time for you and your insured.
You can now download a watermarked PDF of the forms associated with your quote. Select Download Specimen Forms on the Quote Summary page.
The PDF is specific to your quote, rather than a blank generic specimen, and is clearly marked as non-binding. You can use it to review coverage with your insured or compare forms before binding.
We've expanded product availability and carrier capacity across several states:
We've also expanded coverage options and limits across several products:
